Not my favourite colours, but I love the design with all nine patch blocks.

Love the second one more though.

Very interesting design.

The blocks in this project file are based on designs I found in Electric Quilt library collections, most from Classic Applique, some from Classic pieced.. Every block has been modified, some just a little, some have had multiple surgeries. Some pieces from some applique blocks have been mixed up with pieces from other blocks.

Generations of quilt designers could shuffle the current collection of designs and still be designing new quilts, and probably still be shuffling the pieces in blocks to create new blocks. Of course, each generation of designers would have to use new fabric designs ...

All nine patch blocks, many of them rather basic nine patch, with some interesting results.

And some stunning results. Love the second design!

When I chose these fabrics I wanted almost plain primary colours to play with … I try yo avoid primary colours in general, so this was a challenge to see if I could make them work.

I also wanted to use some very basic pieced blocks to create some complicated designs.

I have made it work, and I love the blue border made with very basic 9 patch blocks.

Interesting.

This project file uses ten 9 Patch blocks, with modifications to colour placement, with a few lines either deleted or ignored when placing the colours.

I prefer the second design today.

Love the first of today’s designs. It is just familiar blocks with colours arranged a bit differently to normal.

I like the second one as well. I have to admit that I would only ever use these colours for quilts to give away, but they work for me in these designs.
